There are certain things that you, before you try more mods, the bike.

1. Get over heels / shoes stacked. They talk only about an inch and a half, which could be possible.

2. Take a seat - somewhere - and have removed some of the filling. This is becoming increasingly popular. There are places where the stock is deleted, and by another product, to be replaced so easily, but is not thick enough.

3. Instead of "shortening" of the seat and tried to shave some of its pages. Sometimes the seat width contributes to the problem.

4. It can adjustments to the shocks or something that can be adjusted on the bike a little lower. 1.5 Probably not, but perhaps sufficient.

None of these things can be enough to be comfortable. But otherwise, it is certainly a kit from your bike. Start with Google "Triumph Bonneville", "lowering" kit and several variations of this and see what happens.
